Quality
At ASCOA facilities, quality is assured because each center submits to rigorous
oversight. To participate in and receive payment from the Medicare or Medicaid
programs, ASCOA facilities maintain active certification and comply with quality
standards set forth by the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA).
Additionally, all of our facilities conduct peer-reviews of clinical care and
submit to inspection by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care
(AAAHC) or Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
(JCAHO).
Physician-owners control clinical standards, staff, and policies. Every facility
has a Quality Assurance Committee, chaired by the Medical Director and supported
by the surgeon partners as part of a Continuing Quality Improvement process. The
breadth of the ASCOA network of centers allows for internal benchmarking. The
information shared among facilities contributes to exceptional results and
efficiency.
